We are fortunate enough to have our own Scout premises where both Scouting and non-Scouting activities can take place during the week. With Beavers, Cubs and Scouts meeting 3 nights on the week, the hut also plays host to a daytime glass craft club, fitness group, local youth club and self-defence classes. The hall can also be hired out to users for private functions.

The Scout Hut started off life as a Methodist Chapel in the early 20th Century and has been a landmark in the centre of the village. Sometime around the 1960’s, the Scout group at the time acquired the building, transforming it into a more practical Scouting Headquarters with the addition of a kitchen, small back room and toilets.

Our Scout Hut is available to be hired for events and functions. It is a shell that can be (and is) used for a variety of functions including birthday parties, fitness group, activity groups, and even small training events.

If you are interested in hiring out the hall, please send an email to gsl@1stlacebyscouts.org.uk who will help out.
